CITY PAPER magazine, which produces this site, was one of the few media regionally or abroad that pegged the eventual Latvian winner as having the best song. Weeks before the contest began it gave the Latvian entrant an 8 out of 10 rating, the highest among the 24 competitors. Most media had given her little if any chance to win.
