Energy dependence rate at 53.8% in EU, the lowest in Estonia
The energy dependence rate, defined as net imports divided by gross consumption, and which shows the extent to which a country is dependent on energy imports, was 53.8% in the European Union in 2011, whereas Latvia's energy dependence rate was 59%.
