In 2012, packaged food is expected to register a slight slowdown of growth in retail value terms, accounting for a 4% increase. However, such a performance is in line with the overall stabilisation trend of the post-crisis period in Latvia. While in the period prior to crisis, when Latvia's economy was on the rise, packaged food posted significant growth both in volume and value terms, in 2009 the situation changed dramatically, forcing people to economise on different product groups, with packaged food being one of them. ...
