Increases in unemployment in Baltic States were highest in EU in April y-o-y
In April 2009, unemployment in Lithuania reached 16.8%, making the highest rise among the Member States of the European Union year-on-year (4.3% in April 2008). In March 2009, Lithuania's unemployment rate stood at 15.2%, reported Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. The highest increases after Lithuania were registered in Latvia (6.1% to 17.4%) and Estonia (3.7% to 13.9%)....
