Latvian dairy farms laying off workers due to Russia’s embargo

Due to overproduction and falling milk prices, several dairy farms in Latvia have begun laying off workers, farmers also say that a number of farms may go bankrupt or have to slaughter cattle, therefore Minister of Agriculture Janis Duklavs should do everything in his power at the upcoming EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council's extraordinary session to ensure support for Latvian dairy farmers who are suffering indirect losses as a result of Russia's food embargo, representatives of Farmers' Saeima informed LETA....
